//…. // Duo thinking
``…. `` Heero thinking
"….." spoken words

//How do you tell the person that you love most in the world that you love them? Do you just go on with life just looking and dreaming, or do you tell him and risk getting yourself killed? //

The question had been running through Duo's head all day. They haven't had any missions for about two weeks now and they weren't expecting for at least two more weeks. That left Duo with a lot of time to think about what to do about this situation. All he's come up with are reasons not to tell Heero how he feels. Then an idea came to him, why not write him a letter!

// That's it, I'll put it in a letter then leave it somewhere were he can find it. //

Duo went over to the oak desk that was in the room that he shared with Heero, and pulled out a pin and some paper.

//Now were to begin. This might be harder than I thought. // Duo sighed to himself as he tried to figure out how to put his feelings into words.

// How to put all my feelings into words? Man this is so hard. But its better than telling him in person, at least this way I can be far gone by the time he reads it. Now, how to tell the perfect solider that I want to spend the rest of my life, no matter how short or long it might be, with him. That I want to be able to hold him at night, and wake up next to him in the morning? //

Duo was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't see or hear Heero leaning against the door watching him.

``I wonder what he's up to now`` Heero thought to himself as he watched Duo.

`` Probably nothing good, but at least he's being quite. I better leave so it will stay that way. `` Heero thought to himself as he left.

Duo was still having trouble writing the letter. For some reason he couldn't get what he was feeling in to words. // Maybe I should just give it up, this is just too hard. // Duo thought to himself as he stared down at the paper. Then he decided to just write and see what came out.

// I just hope this works! // He thought.

Duo closed his eyes and began to write trying not to think of what to say and just letting his hand do the work. About 2 hours later, Duo had finished the letter. He didn't want it to sound horrible so he rewrote it, and hid the original.

// Maybe someday, if it all works out right, I can show it to Heero// Thought Duo.

Duo reread the letter then put it in an envelope with Heero's name on it then put it in the one place that he knew Heero would find it, on his laptop. Now all he had to do was wait. // I think I need some air, maybe I'll go for a walk and see what's around.// Duo thought to him self as he made his way to the living room.

When he reached the living room he saw that it was empty. // Hmmm.. Wonder where everyone is. Well Quatre and Trowa are probably in their room doing what I want to do with Heero. Wufie is either in his room reading a book or in the hanger cleaning his suit. Now were could Heero be? That's a good question. Oh well as long as he reads the letter while I'm gone. // Thought Duo as he walked outside in the warm air.

Heero watched from the attic window as Duo left. He didn't know why he was up there. Well that's not entirely true. He was up there to get away from Duo's endless bouncing and chattering. The braided boy amazed him sometimes. `` Well I better go and get to work while he's gone if I want to get anything done. `` Heero thought to himself as he walked to the room he shared with Duo. When he got there he noticed that there was something on his laptop. It was an envelope with his name on it; it was in Duo's handwriting. This was of the many things that amazed him about the braided pilot.

Duo's handwriting was the best he's ever seen; it wasn't sloppy like some people think it is. Heero sighed as he opned the envelope expecting something other than a letter. Pulling it out he started to read what Duo had written.

I'm writing this letter to tell you a lot of things that I just can't tell you in person. There have been a lot of things going on in my mind that have confused me. I really haven't figured out what they are yet but I'm working on it. The one thing I have figured out, well actually I have known this for a long time. Heero I love you. Now you see why I couldn't tell you to your face, knowing you would pull out your gun and kill me. And knowing me I would just stand there and let you. I hope that when I get back you won't want to kill me. I hope that you feel the same way about me that I do about you. But if not then I understand, I'll just go on with my life and leave you alone. I just hope that we can still be friends, because your friendship means a lot to me. Ok well I guess I better end it here. Please don't kill me when I get back.

Heero didn't know what to think this totally shocked him. He could tell that there was something more in Duo friendship then just that, but that wasn't what shocked him the most. It was the fact that he loved Duo to. He just didn't realize it until then. Duo is the only person he really trusts he could tell Duo anything and didn't have to worry about him spreading it around. No mature how hard he tried not to let it happen he let Duo into his heart. Heero sighed and put the letter back into the envelope and tried to go to work, only to find that his mind was to full of other things.

Duo took a deep breath before he went back into the house. He didn't know what to expect so he wasn't shocked to see the living room empty, to tell the truth he was glad, it gave him some time to think of what to say when he saw Heero.

//Maybe he hasn't even read it yet. But if he has then what do I say to him. "Heero it's a beautiful day outside and here you are sitting at the computer, you know one of these days your going to go blind from staring at thing all day. Then what good would you be?" Yeah maybe that will work. //

Duo slowly made his way to the room he shared with Heero, thinking along the way about what to do and say. Before he realized it he was in front of the door. He took a deep breath and listened to see if he could hear any noise coming from the room. Not hearing any Duo slowly opened the door only to find Heero on his bed with the letter in hand.

//Oh god what do I do now?!// Duo thought to himself, forgetting everything he was going to say.

Duo opened his mouth to say something but stopped when he saw Heero get up off the bed.

Heero gave up on working so he went to lay down on the bed and reread the letter. He was confused about his feelings right now. He knew he should just forget about the letter but he couldn't. Reading that letter had released feelings he didn't know existed. Maybe he did know they were and just didn't want to admit it to himself or to Duo.

Though now that he thought about it, it does explain some of the things he's felt lately, like this intense need to see and hear Duo smile and talk, for some reason it made him feel better. The sound of the front door opening broke into Heero's thoughts.

``Duo's back, what should I do? Maybe I should just ignore this and just pretend that I never found it. That would be the best thing to do, but could I do that to Duo? Hell, could I do that to myself? No, not when I know how he feels about me. Maybe I should ju…..`` The door to the room opening broke into his thoughts. He didn't know what to do as he just lay there looking at the boy who had just entered. Then before he knew what he was doing he was up off the bed walking towards the braided pilot.

Ok tell me what you think.Am I just wasting my time,or should i do more?Well like usual I applogize ahead of time for anything that is wrong.
