The streetlamp shone down on a pale, slim boy. The light of the city flickered and screamed 'sex', and the boy smiled. It was his game, his territory, and he reveled in it. As he stopped under the street lamp, he was surrounded by appreciative glances and a few cat-calls, and he smiled.
A slight breeze rippled his black mesh shirt and swept his braided hair to the side. He seductively ran his hand down his thigh, pressing against the tight black leather that outlined every contour line of his legs and ass.
It was nighttime. Time to prowl.
But before he began, there was one thing to do. Quickly, silently, he slunk into the shadows of an alleyway. Fumbling at his neck, he pulled on a gold chain and grasped the cross on it.
"Our father," he whispered to himself, keeping a watchful eye out for other people.
"Our father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever. Amen."
The words finished in a reverent, but harsh, whisper.
First one by one, then groups of people - men, usually - began to walk down, inspecting the wares. The boy smiled again, knowing he was one of the best. He perused down his length of sidewalk, always smiling, with the cross hidden under the mesh, his hand on the cross. Looking like a good little Christian boy gone wrong.
Which wasn't that far from the truth anyways.
The boy took a deep breath and looked around for a potential customer. And then over there was a boy about his age, maybe a little older, looking old and battle-weary, although barely old enough to be a soldier. His dark hair was messily scattered and every once in a while he ran his hand through it. The boy smiled and licked his lips. There.
The other boy was in jeans and a t-shirt, looking around semi-nervously, semi-disdainfully, his dark blue eyes taking in everything. And this boy wondered, 'what is he doing here, in a world he doesn't belong in?'
The other boy paused at the street corner, looking around, as is trying to find something, trying to find someone.
'Find me', this boy whispered in his mind. 'Find me beautiful; find me, beautiful'. And he smiled, and blew a kiss.
The other boy stared.
